Design Notes
Design Notes document the reasoning behind specific design choices, trade-offs, implementation details, and lessons learned during the development of a system or subsystem.
They complement architecture entries by providing deeper insight into the decision-making process and capturing the engineering rationale behind real-world decisions.
Each Design Note is a standalone entry and typically includes:
- context and problem statement
- design options considered
- trade-off analysis
- chosen solution
- implementation notes
- verification strategy
- lessons learned
The goal is to provide engineering-grade documentation that exposes how and why technical decisions are made.
